John H. Barbor, Esq.

Mr. Barbor is a principal of the firm.  A life-long resident of Indiana, he graduated from Dartmouth College in 1974, and from Boston College Law School in 1977.  He has practiced law in Indiana County since 1977, concentrating in real estate, estate planning, elder law, and estate administration.

Mr. Barbor is Life Fellow of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, and a former director and president of the Indiana County Bar Association. He now serves as Chairman of the Indiana County Zoning Hearing Board and as Solicitor for the Indiana County Recorder of Deeds, Register of Wills, and Clerk of Orphans’ Court.

 

Mr. Barbor is an Eagle Scout, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a former director and vice-president of the Indiana Area School District.  The Indiana County YMCA recognized his volunteer service by awarding him its McCreary Service Award. 

A former board member and president of the Indiana Arts Council, a founding member and former director and president of the Indiana Players, and a guest actor in a number of I.U.P. theatrical productions, he actively participates in the local arts community.  He also holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
